Catching up
The most difficult part about blogging so far has been finding a gmail account name, blogger name and address that is available! I can see lots of potential for blogs in the library and home but I have to admit that my main aim/concern at the moment is getting my head around the terminology, concepts and just feeling like I am catching up with everyone else in the world. What was web/library 1.0 anyway, I seem to have missed it?

It does seem a lot of work setting up a new identity, remembering a new identity...I don't thing you missed library 1.0 - it is still happening and that is where some of the blurring can occur. Part of library 2.0 are about good (or even excellent) customer service and that is what library 1.0 should have been about as well.
Great to see you online. Getting through the setting up now means you can think more about how the library 2.0 ideas and technologies can be used. Don't worry too much about some of the technology names it is impossible to keep up with all the different terms, but keep the big picture ideas in focus.
Mmmm... good question, what was Web 1.0? Since Web 2.0 is really a concept rather than a 'thing', collaboration and communities rather than any one specific web tool perhaps this explanation of the differences and contrasts helps? http://joedrumgoole.com/blog/2006/05/29/web-20-vs-web-10/
